TOP 10 PLAYERS
TOP 10
USFA is full of great players on both sides of the ball. The first 10 seasons have produced legends and I’m sure the next 10 will do the same. It was very difficult to narrow this list down to only 10 but these 10 players stand out above the rest going into S11.
10
WR NEW YORK MAFIA CALVIN NACUA
S10 STATS 80 REC 1342 YDS 11 TDS
S11 PROJ 85 REC 1414 YDS 14 TDS
A promising rookie of the year candidate did a fantastic job and was one of the best receivers in the league this year. Showed great flashes throughout the year. Let’s see if he can establish himself another year as an elite receiver.
9
CB ST LOUIS ARCHERS FORTWUNNY BLUNTSMOKE
S10 STATS 106 TACKLES 4 TFL 7 PD 3 INT 2 FF
S11 PROJ 100 TACKLES 2 TFL 10 PD 4 INT
Bluntsmoke was an anchor for the Archer’s defense. He seemed to be everywhere and did everything from tackling, to forcing fumbles, and interceptions.
8
LB TORONTO WRAITHS YOGI BARR
S10 144 TACKLES 11 TFL 3.5 SACKS 20 PD
S11 PROJ 153 TACKLES 14 TFL 4 SACKS 14 PD 2 INT 1 FF
Yogi Barr is the best LB in the current USFA era. Not only is he feared in the run game, but he also gets his hands out there in the passing game. Yogi is a nightmare for opposing offenses.
7
S DALLAS DRAGONS WEEZY PORTER
S10 120 TACKLES 9 TFL 11 PD 3 INT 1 FR
S11 PROJ 124 TACKLES 10 TFL 13 PD 2 INT
Racking up 120 tackles from the S position tells us one thing, Weezy is a safety that often sits in the box, loves to get his hands dirty, and is willing to do whatever for his team to win.
6
TE CHARLOTTE ROYALS VIC DOTSON
S10 105 REC 1301 YDS 11 TDS
S11 PROJ 96 REC 1142 YDS 10 TDS
Just look at the awards Vic has, he’s a 6x TE of the year, going back-to-back-to-back-to… you get the point. No matter the offense, no matter the team, Vic becomes a key piece to that team’s offense and doesn’t show signs of slowing down any time soon.
5
CB DETROIT HELLHOUNDS MYKEE JACKSON
S10 68 TACKLES 2 TFL 1 SACK 24 PD 4 INT
S11 PROJ 64 TACKLES 4 TFL 27 PD 6 INT
Mykee was robbed of the best CB award this season, leading CB in tackles, pass deflections, top 3 in and interceptions. Mykee put a challenge out there last season to give any receiver that scores on him some money and not a soul collected, that tells you all you need to know about the phenom.
4
DE TORONTO WRAITHS ANDRE KRIMM
S10 46 TACKLES 6 TFL 14.5 SACKS 1 PD
S11 PROJ 53 TACKLES 8 TFL 16 SACKS 1 FF
The Reaper led the league with 14.5 sacks this past season and is one of the primary anchors on the Toronto defense, by being an absolute terror to opposing offenses. Krimm’s ability to get off the line quickly and chase down QB’s is the only reason needed for him to be rated this high on the list.
3
WR HUNTINGTON BEACH VOYAGERS RYAN DAVIS
S10 72 REC 1518 YDS 14 TDS
S11 PROJ 68 REC 1342 YDS 12 TDS
The speed demon himself! On the lower end Ryan doesn’t have a ton of receptions but is killing his fellow receivers with the most yards. With a whopping 1518 yards on 72 catches which is an average of 21 yards a catch, which is insane. Ryan has been a top receiver since he’s come into the league, and I don’t see it changing any time soon.
2
RB TORONTO WRAITHS AUSTON WILSON
S10 272/1407 YDS 10 TDS 75/537 YDS 2 TDS
S11 PROJ 252/1335 YDS 10 TDS 60/439 YDS 2 TDS
Best Running Back of the Year, Playoff’s MVP, Regular Season MVP, and should’ve been Rookie of the Year Auston Wilson, went ham this year. As the most impactful player on his team, it was only right to have all these accolades as the lead back for the champs. The power and conviction to which he runs will carry that Toronto offense for years to come.
1
QB HUNTINGTON BEACH VOYAGERS TYLER DETHERAGE
S10 4018 TOTAL YDS 40 TDS 8 INT
S11 PROJ 3846 YDS 33 TDS 6 INT
A few people feel like Detherage should won best QB his rookie season, because he led HBV to an undefeated season and a championship. This season, he came back with a vengeance and repeated his regular season run of being undefeated. Deatherage tore the league up and easily lead all QB’s by a country mile in TD’s thrown with only 8 picks. He deserves to be top of this list.
