Pre-Game Coach's Interview: Exclusive
I was able to snag a quick interview with Huntington Beach Voyagers owner Ryan Davis before their crucial re-match with the Charlotte Royals today! Both teams are alone at the top with undefeated records this season...until tonight.
* You're the longest running, undefeated head coach in the USFA! How does it feel? Is it fun having that bragging right, or all pressure?
It's been a fun and stressful journey being undefeated as an owner. The pressure is always there but I do like to poke fun to keep things spicy in the league but that's because I truly want teams to try to get to our level because I want more competition. Competition is always more fun!
* Charlotte is essentially a rival looking for revenge on top of being the last undefeated team standing. Has anything changed in how you face them, or in how you prepped since beating them in the Championship?
Nothing has changed on our end. HBV is always ready for the next fight. I've been preparing for Charlotte for weeks so we're ready.
*Is there anyone or anything new with Charlotte to react to in your planning?
I would say the biggest change is just ownership and they now have an owner who is actively game planning every week. They have always had top talent but the game planning was not there last season.
*What's your hoped for or predicted score?
HBV will be 11-0. I don't care how we do it as long as that W hits our record, I'll be happy.
