Glance at the West
Detroit
This team went from not making the playoffs to the United Bowl. They stop HBV reign over the western conference. They scored the second most points and they were ranked the 2nd toughest defense to score on.
S13 Detroit finds themselves with a new signal caller. Action Jackson last two seasons had 73 touchdowns and only 8 ints. Making a change at QB is a big risk but it could be the changed needed to bring home a championship
Key Additions: QB Siro Thomas, WR I’mHym Forreal
Key Losses: Action Jackson Jr.
HBV
S12 was a weird year for HBV. They showed flashes of dominance and spots throughout the season but certain times they felt flat nothing more glaring than losing to a team they beat 73-13. Their run of UB appearances stopped at 4.
S13, this is a big season for HBV, they have the talent to reclaim their spot among the best in the league, but they have a lot of questions to answer. Can Falco replace 3x champ Detherage. Can Vic Dotson feel comfortable in an offense where there is an equal star in Carlton Banks. Can the defense return to top of the league?
Key Additions: TE Vic Dotson, CB Norman Martel, HB Auston Wilson
Key Losses: QB Tyler Detherage, LB Tee Knight, DE Oleg Crusher
Dallas
Dallas never felt like it found real consistency in S12.There 8-6 shows they never had any real momentum. They brought back most of the same talent but not the same focus and it resulted in losing big in the western conference championship for the 2nd season in a straight.
S13 is an opportunity for Dallas to take a step among the league’s elite. While they have made the playoffs the last two seasons, they have not established themselves in the upper echelon just yet. They lost a couple big pieces, but they still have a former MVP in Duke at QB and the reigning DPOY in Blackmon, so a championship should still be the goal.
Key Additions: TE Jordan Banks, RB Ulf Jakobsson, WR Ryan Brandy
Key Losses: WR Sir Lancelot, RB Dominic Mckenzie
Tacoma
5 wins don’t seem much but for Tacoma they probably overachieved. They were never a real threat to make the playoffs, but they showed some real fight in S12. Last season they never had an identity and that was the biggest reason they didn’t get more wins in S12.
S13 Tacoma was able to make some big moves in the off season and improved their team on both sides of the ball. With a rookie QB in Fazo, will he be able to create an identity and new excitement for Tacoma? If so, they can fight for a wild card spot if not it may be another 3-to-5-win season.
Key Additions: RB Dolph Hussle, WR Sean Justice, LB John Smith
Key Losses: LB Coco Racoon, TE Joe Beasley, WR Phoenix Jones
St. Louis
Where to begin about S12 STL, the offseason where they spent 20 m on Dane Jones, during the season they lost by 60 points or when they beat that team later in the season. S12 had very few highs but they did improve their win total by 3 games. Small progress is still progress.
S13 needs to be all about defense. They had the worst defense in the league and gave up the most points in league history. They addressed that side of the ball in the offseason with the underrated signing of Leon Kennedy. Their defense will improve this season, but will it be enough to keep them in games?
Key Additions: CB Leon Kennedy, QB Ajay Dexter, SS Tommy Gunnz
Key Losses: QB Dane Jones
